Crane Creek Farm is 15 km from Waterval Boven in Mpumalanga, an easy 2½ hour drive from Johannesburg and Pretoria. Visitors to this old-world farm experience the charm of genuine hospitality from Arlo, Ryda and Andre.

This much-loved farm had previously been in the Paterson family for over 30 years. Unlike most "highveld" farms, which are mainly grassland, there are a lot of old, established trees on this tranquil bit of paradise.

Crane Creek is in the highlands, so there is no malaria risk and all the water on the farm is from natural springs, which bubble from the ground.

Testimonial from a happy visitor:

"You sit and watch as the kids play computer games all day long and you feel they don't get out enough. You've done everything else there is to do in Jo'burg, where too now? Why not pack up and go to Mpumalanga and 2.5 hours later you'll find yourself at the farm gates of Crane Creek only 15km's out of Machadodorp.

This is a trout farm with a difference! On your arrival, the farm manager will welcome you with log fires roaring inside and out, and there is enough wood to keep them burning for the duration of your stay. You'll enjoy the fact that the house is serviced every day, you can now relax and plan your next move.

You can go hiking, mountain biking, fishing, relax inside at the pool table, play darts or even read a good book while enjoying the stunning view over the valley and dams below. The kids will love the farm animals and lending a helping hand with the daily activities on the farm.

When night falls and the stars come out in all their glory, you'll know you're at a happy place, with the fire roaring and stories of the one that didn't get away!"
